Back in April Jessica Bain applied to the position of Black History and Culture fellow at Spotify via Twitter by putting up her "This Is" playlist.

She also linked to her frankly incredibly cover-letter website, where she lays out her perspective on the importance of black culture in music.

Then on Wednesday -- about a month after she applied -- the news came in. The job was hers.

Mashablereached out to Spotify to confirm this. Needless to say, people were pretty impressed by Bain's pluck.

Turns out thinking outside the box really does work. Unless of course you work in a box-making factory. In which case always think inside the box.
