On Wednesday an Overwatch League player for the London Spitfire team flipped the bird at the camera, and was hit with a $1,000 fine as a result.

Jun-Young Park (player handle "Profit") said in a statement that he did not realise he was being broadcast, and that the gesture carried no "malicious intent".

Regardless of intent however, the Overwatch League gave him the fine for violating official rules.

"The Overwatch League takes standards of player behavior seriously," said the League in an official statement, "and is committed to responding swiftly when violations occur."

Profit's team London Spitfire is currently second in the standings. Hopefully this snafu won't dent morale too badly.
