In the six months since the Pokémon Go mobile game dropped, players have been putting in some serious effort.

Everyone seemed to drop everything when the game was released in July and all that searching for Pokémon has paid off -- users have collectively walked 8.7 billion kilometers, or 5.4 billion miles, according to Niantic Labs (the company behind the game) in a blog post Tuesday.

The gaming company made a video to show how far we've gone to catch the digital creatures. We've walked past Uranus, Neptune and even the dwarf planet Pluto. In terrestrial terms, that's more than 200,000 trips around the Earth.

Back in September the company announced trainers had put in 4.6 billion kilometers (that's 2.9 billion miles), so in the past few months players have stayed pretty busy trying to catch 'em all. As of the first week of December, players caught more than 88 billion Pokémon during all those miles, which breaks down to around 533 million a day.

At peak Pokémon Go, 25 million players were using the app daily and they were everywhere. People were racking up real miles to hit up digital gyms for training and to find exotic creatures.

A representative for the company told Mashable in an email Tuesday that the game has been downloaded more than 600 million times as of November. They did not provide daily usage numbers, though since the game's launch at the beginning of July it has seen an continuous drop-off from its initial spike.
